ESPY Winner & 2-Time Women's College World Series champion agrees to terms with Racers

Former University of Arizona standout Taryne Mowatt has confirmed with The Softball Network today that she will be returning the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) League for the 2010 season as a member of the Akron Racers.  After completing her collegiate career at the University of Arizona in 2008, Mowatt was drafted and played one year with the NPF's Washington Glory.  When the Glory discontinued operations in 2009, Taryne joined the Pro Fastpitch Extreme (PFX) Tour.

When asked about her return to the NPF, Mowatt said, "I am very excited to be coming back to the NPF and the opportunity to play with and compete against many of my friends.  I like the community and fan support in Akron and am looking forward to a great time with the Racers"

The Akron Racers are the longest standing, and arguably the most established franchise in the NPF.  The Racers announced in October that Crystl Bustos, 3-Time Olympian, and former Akron Racer player, would be taking over the lead as the Racer's Field Manager in 2010.
